I used to use the dashboard widget to do this. I had been looking for a dock app like this. Love the app, only couple of requests. It would be great to have a badge with numbers showing how many files are left to shred and an option to close or quit the app after the job is complete.

I can’t comment on how secure the files are deleted and can only assume it works as advertised. I use this to shred any documents that I would prefer not to be recovered. I find it really useful however for those pesky files that won’t be emptied from the trash can. I just use the normal shred function to quickly delete them and bypass the annoying can’t complete error ## messages that sometimes pop up when emptying the trash.

at last, when you ask it to trash something it actually does trash anything & everything, unlike apples system on the odd occasion.<\/p>\n

EDIT: Since writing the earlier review its come to my attention that ever since downloading this app, when i put items into Apples normal trash can it sometimes auto deletes it from the trash can, which could prove a major headache on occasion, especially for the accidental times you drop something in there….please developers fix this!<\/p>\n

Seems to do what it is supposed to do: get rid of misc junk and unneeded sensitive material right away, allowing Trash to be used only to isolate items before definitively deleting. Quite convenient. No issues.
